A towering tribute to the passage of time.

Monument to Movement is our interpretation of a festive sculpture developed for the holiday season, rising 14 meters into the air. Celebration is at the heart of this work, represented by the kinetic energy of multi-layered compositions which rise together toward the sky and anchored by six swings for public use at the ground level. The sculpture’s hypnotic movement is a nod to the elations of joy shared universally during New Year observances — a unifying force that transcends borders, languages, and generations. In Monument to Movement, we sought to create a space where everyone can reflect on shared milestones, cycles of renewal, and the ever-present hope of what each new year will bring.

Composed of motors, metal beams and cardboard compositions, this kinetic sculpture was inspired by the communal themes of celebrations, from Christmas to Lunar New Year observances. Because of this, the artwork was designed to exist in two phases: beginning in November, it took the form of a blue, green, and silver tree-like structure, then transformed in January into a dynamic red and gold firework-inspired structural shape.

Whether observed from a distance or experienced from within, the sculpture encourages both contemplation and participation, offering a space to mark the passage of time and to be present in the moment that moves us all.
