Music to Your Eyes
Wade and Leta make music for your eyes. Their studio combines purposeful eclecticism and performative design to create satisfying and emotional visuals ranging from conventional identities to colorfully charged compositions utilizing any abilities. Their work lives between many worlds and blurs the lines of disciplines and industries; some would call this "multi-disciplinary," but they would tell you that they don’t think about work in disciples. They take on any challenge that is new with the same vigor as an anime hero heading out on a quest. Their practice is about exploration and they believe that work and life are intertwined, especially since they live and work together all day every day. They love anime, gaming and not looking at emails, but please email since we don't have a studio phone.
They work between New York and Tokyo, but you can always find them on the internet!
Leta Sobierajski
Leta Sobierajski (b. 1988) is a New Yorker, but as you can tell from her almost 300-letter last name, she is also Polish. Her first love was anime and the world of Final Fantasy 7. As a child of the forest, Leta grew up with 1.2KB/s dial up internet and so downloading a song was an all day activity. While waiting for said song, she would spend the wee hours of the morning writing stories on fantasy RPG forums. Clearly, she is very patient. In 2024, she set a goal to run 50 miles a month and is sticking to it. She can be extremely obsessive with details when not brewing tea to fuel her ideas.
Here are some of her favorite things:
Anime:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Manga: Slam Dunk
Game: Final Fantasy 7
Building: Aoyama Technical College by Makoto Sei Watanabe
Color:
Chartreuse
Movie: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Food: Shirako or rice with egg and natto
Band: No bands—only techno
Wade Jeffree
Wade Jeffree (b. 1987) is an Australian artist who left to have a go at making something of it in New York City. When he arrived, he met Leta and never looked back. He is a lover of a perfectly extracted espresso and a collector of books written in languages he can't read (yet!). He is serious about what he does, but outside of that he is not very serious—just ask Leta. Like a Labrador, he doesn’t know when to stop eating. He is obsessed with Sumo and is a UAP and alien nerd.
Here are some of his favorite things:
Anime:
Hunter x Hunter
Anime character:
Kazuma Kuwabara from YuYu Hakusho
Manga: Slam Dunk
Game: Death Stranding
Building: Aoyama Technical College by Makoto Sei Watanabe
Color:
Green
Movie: The Matrix
Book: Southern Reach Trilogy
Food: Juwari Soba
Band: Yellow Magic Orchestra
